If you’re looking for some suitable presents, you will often find them on the Internet. Amazon, Zalando etc. tempt customers with many attractive offers. But it is when online shopping in particular that you run many digital risks.
Cyber-criminals like to exploit public holidays, and Christmas in particular, to send out e-mails with purported «best wishes»: Either in the form of spam to advertise, or in the shape of phishing, to lure users to faked websites. Especially dangerous are e-mails with attachments. As it is these e-mails in particular which could also contain malware.
Please always check any e-mail attachments received with up-to-date anti-virus software, and don’t just trust senders unhesitatingly just because you think you know them. Always remain suspicious, and apply some common sense.
